After setting up our Christmas tree… Bobo inspected it and approved.

This is the first of a series of cat haiku contests that will run on LiveLikeACatDay.com and we thought this photo of Neko in a hammock would be a good way to start. As a refresher, a haiku is a 3 line Japanese poem. The first line has 5 syllables, second line has 7 and the third line has 5. For a more in depth course on how to write a haiku, read this article on eHow.
Leave your haiku entry for this picture in the comments. Best haiku wins a surprise prize.

I found this picture on Flickr and contacted Scott, the owner of the photo and he generously gave me permission to post it here. On the floor is Kato the Cat and on the couch is Scott. Here is how they spent their Thanksgiving:
“For the first time since I can remember, I didn’t do Thanksgiving with my family this year. I had been working a lot of late nights recently, and I really didn’t feel like dealing with the holiday traffic, so I decided to stay in town for Thanksgiving. It also turned out that a few of my buddies were staying in town as well, so we banded together for our own little holiday celebration.
Scott generously volunteered his place for Thanksgiving dinner. He provided honey-baked ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, and a salad. Tom brought pumpkin pie and ice cream. I brought a couple of bottles of wine. Much food was consumed. A bit of alcohol was drunk. Good times were had.
Pictured here are Kato crashing on the floor and Scott lounging on the couch (Tom’s chilling off-frame to the right). After we ate most of the incredible food, we watched a bunch of episodes from the Family Guy Season 4 DVD set and laughed our butts off. It hurt to laugh at times, because I ate far too much food, but it was still a blast.
All in all, it was a great Thanksgiving. It was very laid-back and relaxing. I ate lots of good food. I drank some good wine. And I got to do all of it with some great friends. Definitely a good way to spend Thanksgiving. “

You too can have a buzz on Live Like a Cat Day! LOL!
